We are in the process of reviewing/revising our QI plan and setting our goals for next year. I was just wondering if anyone has any innovative or creative goals they would like to share?
We had so much success with Kaizen that we are incorporating that into our goals. We will now do at least 2 kaizen projects each year. We hope to eventually have had all staff play some role in a kaizen project within a couple years.
We use the self-assessment tool for a Roadmap to a Quality Culture to identify needs and projects to move our organization through the phases of the roadmap. We also use Turningpoint's performance management self-assessment to identify gaps and improvement projects. Both tools are helpful in generating ideas for goals for a QI plan.
In the upcoming year, we want to add QI training for staff in our QI plan. We have mandatory monthly staff meetings and one of our goals is to introduce training and/ or one QI tool (such as 5s, value stream mapping, etc.) at each staff meeting to get them involved and on board to use such tools in the future. Our thinking is if they are knowledgeable about such tools, they will be more incline to use them and we will have more buy in.
