Employee Mentoring Program

Mon, 01/12/2015 - 18:48 -- christinaperea

Hello All,

We are thinking of developing a department mentoring program for our employees. Can anyone share their program information and the process they use? We would greatly appreciate it!

Thank you!

Hello,

We just launched a pilot mentoring program at California Department of Public Health. The program is being funded by a CDC grant. We are using 1:1 matching process between mentor and mentee for about 25 matches. Each of the mentors have three - two hour training sessions supported by coaching sessions. We are utilizing visioning and development of SMART objectives for the mentees. The program is slated for six months with an evaluative process to determined viability for a permanent program.

To solicit interest we conducted a Town Hall meeting.

We would be happy to forward our materials, if you are interested. I do have to caution that this is a first for us and we do see opportunities to improve the process as we go forward with a permanent program.

Regards,

Loriann DeMartini

Hello Christina and Lea,

Would you be open to a conference call for myself and the lead on our pilot mentoring program to discuss our project?

If so, send me an email at Loriann.demartini@cdph.ca.gov and I will have my assistant set up a mutually convenient time

Hi Loriann - I am interested in the materials you have developed as well. We are doing a lot more around employee development and mentoring is something that has been discussed frequently in the past.

Thanks!

Hi everyone,

I'm also working on a mentoring program for my department and I'd appreciate getting the information you are talking about so we can all share and learn about what worked, what didn't, etc. From my end, I have a proposal I put together with info from many sources I found online, I read, I researched, etc., but my plan is still under review, so I can certainly add things to it so this is very timely for me. Can someone contact me? I'd also be happy to facilitate a call so we can all talk about it. Just let me know if you are interested and we can get a small group to brainstorm about it and share. I can definitely facilitate calls every other month or something to see how we are all progressing. Hope to hear form you soon!
